I may or may not have found out how to fix the white screen problem

So what I noticed when I log on I get a white screen and it stops responding BUT something I have noticed is that when that happens an extremely large amount of memory and cpu is being used which causes programs to stop responding. So I have decided it may be because I have 1gb of ram and I think if I add another gb it may or may not solve the problem.So to all people getting the same problem please post how much ram you have below ,thanks
