The time has come for CustomBlocks batch #2. Post all your ideas for new block types/textures here! Keep in mind that the more complicated your idea is, the less likely it is to make it into the standard. Previous suggestion thread can be found here.
Full snow block and half snow block. If vines are implemented, might as well do stairs bc the metadata.
New model: Slenderman (a tall mob, maybe same size as Endermen)
Blocks: All wooden plank colors. Diamond ore and block. Spider-cobweb. Nether portal water. (purple colored water just like nether portals have) Stairs.

How is that odd? ClassiCube doesn't have water or lava physics unless with special software.
I was more trying to point at your use of "/z", which is an fcraft and fcraft derivative specific command.
Also I do believe in single player there is water and lava physics, any server without basic physics is kinda crap imo..
Steel floor block sounds cool.
@Purple Water: Just use CPE Selection box to color your water purple.
It's also used as a shortcut in MCLawl and MCLawl derivatives.

Neither does Minecraft

If you use world edit to remove some water at one point, it doesn't fully work because water would fill some of the cut blocks or all of it if you cut directly under the top of the water source. I was referring to Mc physics. Not real world physics.
Torch-like block that emits light
Door-like block (that won't require /door command. Interact with things with right click?)
Random Block- a block that gets random textures on each side to troll people.
Add a tesseract
Okay, I thought hard on these ones. Some of them have been said, I am endorsing them. Quicksand, mud, block that is water on top and sand on bottom, clouds, carpet, cherry tree, white logs would be nice, ferns, furniture, lavalight (lava that gives off light), cake, steel block, paned-window glass block, seaweed (would look great underwater), water block that has water flow on the 45 degree angle so water can be made to appear as if it is flowing down, same thing with lava, and possibly smoke/sand dust as a new air block (with fall back to air yw jonty).
I haven't lurked at all and I haven't read any rules or stickys but here it goes:
First I would like to express my support for cloud blocks. I want my chimneys smoking and my sky cities floating on a soft layer of clouds.
Secondly, I can suggest some original block ideas. Water in minecraft is extremely dull and uninteresting to work with. There's little you can do in water while on land you can spray flowers and other plants everywhere. May it be possible to add a block that acts like a flower, but instead of surrounded by air, it would be surrounded by water? Think of a block that looks like Coral-in-water or maybe even a block that looks like a fish in water. This is stuff used to populate fishtanks, rivers, lakes andsoforth. If it's too hard to make coral look good, something I can well imagine, then maybe add seaweeds. That'll do a lot for water-based builds and maps.
Also maybe algea water. It's a "retexture" of water but then a dirty green water or something.
My own suggestions, to throw into the idea pool:
For those recommending doors, doors are hard. But what if you just had a door texture that you could walk through? I think I'd be content with that.
Now that is a good idea. A ghost block to act like a door
I like the idea of fences and the steel box truss that fragmer suggested. Which direction they are facing could be handled on the client's side (maybe in a similar way to how modern Minecraft handles it) so that the server doesn't have to implement any kind of metadata.
I'm also one for more plants. Tall grass would be nice and it could have a fallback block of saplings.
Hmmm........
Something that would be very exiting to see (have't we all said this?) is torches and/or a light source block. Maybe a cloud block would be cool too!
I'd like to see:
Diamond Ore (Would be another type of ore, Gold maybe?)
Diamond Block (Cyan Wool)
Black Wool - as it appears in Premium (Classic Black Cloth)
Fences (1 high, Brown Mushroom)
Some kind of green, poisoned water (Water)
Signs (Wood)
Marble/Smooth Quartz (Iron)
And Cat/Dog models for bot NPCs like the Spider and Creeper ones.
I'm just going to say Emeralds
zyphyre ore: purple-ish ore
zyphyre ore is a purple iron block with obsidan outline
money bars: if u hold the space they u can go across it
--------[Decorations]--------
Television.
Speaker.
Mini Desk. (Transparent like the glass block, but for leg space)
Cherry.
Any of: Green/Red/Orange/Purple Water (For portal use)
Smoke / Mist block, animated like fire. (Usefull for chimneys and more effects to fire, or gun commands)
--------[Physics]--------
Wires. (Used like air_switch)
What is air_switch?
Also, sidenote, apparently Scoot is looking for things that aren't from modern MC.
To those saying some kind of colored water for portals, just use SelectionBox (SelectionCuboid) to color your water. If that's not good enough then just ditch the water. This way you get exactly what you want as far as color.
air_switch is a custom block made in MCLawl? or just MCDzienny, it links up /door blocks, when you stand on it, it's an invisible link of doors leading to whatever, like a rockethead (also a custom block)
I've never used MCLawl, Dzienny, or fCraft, so I have no clue what you're talking about

That was a really weak description. An air switch is a special air block that can be placed between two other special blocks in order for the two special blocks to interact with each other. For instance, with MCLawl, when placing a line of air switch blocks between two door blocks (special blocks that disappear for a few second when clicked) they become linked. Then, upon clicking one of the special door blocks, the other door block gets activated as if it were clicked.
Hope that helped :P
Fair enough! xD I was always bad at explaining
This may not fulfill this topic, but I would really want to see some new features, like the server can tell the client to draw an image at an exact location on the screen of the user. This could be implemented along with some new blocks like chests and furnaces, so we (server coders) could add a chest similar to the full Minecraft. I'm thinking of something like that:
Packet ID 0xA0
Byte - Image ID
Short - X location in percent
Short - Y location in percent
Short - width in percent
Short - height in percent
String - Image e.g. http://somesite.net/serverlogo.png
Size: 73
Anyways, here's my list of blocks:
Block__Replaced with____
Grass Air
Chest Crate
Workbench Wood
Furnace Stone double slab
Snowy grass block Grass block

To those saying some kind of colored water for portals, just use SelectionBox (SelectionCuboid) to color your water.
From what I understand SelectionCuboid highlights only boxes. And you are only given 128 ids to use. So unless you want to highlight only 128 individual 1x1x1 cubes with color this won't really work well?
Unless you can combine multiple selections into one ID?

They don't have to be 1x1x1 they can be any size you want. Also I can see why colored water might be better because it would have colored fog when in side it.
I'd like to see some pipe kind too, maybe two types - horizontal and vertical. If they were near a water/lava block or another pipe filled with liquid then the pipe would appear full of that liquid block. Maybe a bit complicated though. Fallback block of Glass? Or the liquid it holds. I think mist/fog is a good idea too.

Also, limit is 255, not 128.
I'm not saying you have to use 1x1x1. I'm saying if you want to programatically add color to every water block on the map you would first find all the water blocks and then set a 1x1x1 SelectionCuboid at their coordinates. There's no better way to do this unless you can predict how the blocks are shaped and cover more ground with larger sized cuboids. What I'm asking is:
Can you add a SelectionCuboid at coordinate 1,1,1 and another one with the SAME ID at 127,127,127? That way you can shape the SelecionCuboid however you want without wasting IDs.
And if the limit is 255 (which made more sense for an unsigned byte) they need to fix the wiki.
Then let me put it this way. You're wanting to use this for portals. Assuming you keep a rectangular shaped portal (and you can use blocks in front of the portal to 'shape' it differently if need be) then you can use a single selection--
You know what, not having this conversation here it's off topic. Bring it to IRC some time.
I would love vines to be implemented. I'm not sure if I am in the right area, or if this is on-topic.
This is the right place. Many people just got caught up with some block they got further into it.
I think i would like to see some block (other than fire) that can emit some light that is not lava.
How about light blocks, like colour wool, but shiny and emit light, pretty handy for designing clubs eh?
