Sorry for the inconvenience

This has happened with most of my .jar files I have tried to open. Some of them work, and some don't. This is one that doesn't work. It says "File downloaded from internet". I click "open" and then it says "Cannot Open, Check the console for possible error messages". Can you please help me?
You do have java, right? and if so, what java versoin and what version of OS X?
and you should also open up a terminal, cd to the directory, and run 'java ClassicubeLauncher.jar' to see what the console message is.
Yes, I have Java. Version is 10.5.8 on the Mac, and umby I'll try that, thanks I'll post again if there are more issues.
Alright here's what my terminal says:
(Censored)-imac-5:~ (Censored)$ cd /Users/(Censored)/Desktop/ClassiCube.jar -bash: cd: /Users/(Censored)/Desktop/ClassiCube.jar: Not a directory (Censored)-imac-5:~ (Censored)$ java ClassicubeLauncher.jar Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ClassicubeLauncher/jar Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ClassicubeLauncher.jar at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:202) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:190) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:306) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:247) (Censored)-imac-5:~ (Censored)$
That is what the terminal says, and my mac username is not (Censored), obviously I censored the username after copy/paste so you don't know what it is. Anyway, any fix to my problem? Because this only happens with certain jar files. It would be great if my problem could be fixed, jar files such as minecraft.net's server console or others (I won't advertise)?
try out java -jar ClassicubeLauncher.jar
In order to use ClassiCube, you need Java 7.
Java 7 is only available officially for Mac OS 10.7.3 and higher. There are unofficial distributions, but it would be wisest to simply update your OS if available.
Note that Mac OS X 10.9 is a free upgrade.
tyteen4a03, my Mac is down to 10.5.8. I would have to pay at least 20 bucks to get it upgraded to the point where I CAN upgrade it to 10.9.
EDIT: Yup, It's free, but a problem: "You must have a Mac OS/X 10.9 before you can update it to 10.9.2"
Try to beat that. I can't find 10.9 itself on the app store.
why would an update be in the app store? how about through the update manager?
yeah i have the same problem help me

Solution: Get java 7 via official or unofficial means. It's up to you to get it, and you do so at your own risk.
