The time has come for CustomBlocks batch #2. Post all your ideas for new block types/textures here! Keep in mind that the more complicated your idea is, the less likely it is to make it into the standard. Previous suggestion thread can be found here.
Tables would be nice, and very simple to implement (compared to, say, chairs, which need to face certain directions).
add stairs into the game
I would like more types of water(like pink or green on the lines of that).
There may actually be a way to add stairs without needing to specify the direction. A stair block would just snap/attach itself to all sides where it is faced by a solid block, much like the self-directing pipes/trusses proposed by fragmer. It's not the easiest implementation, but it beats adding metadata.

And what if there is a single stair, not attached to anything? What determines the direction it points?

Direction player faces

Direction player faces
requires metadata to store and is what that was trying to avoid.
No sillies, it'd maybe be like a cone or if that's infeasible maybe a half-slab. Sure it's not perfect but I'm sure everyone on ClassiCube is creative enough to work with something like that.

zOMG ur riping of premum!!! (lol)
Lol
I've already posted like 3 times but I want to see Birch and Spruce wood to use with Oak. They're great for decorating!
I would love to see the torch and dynamic lightning block, i think thats possbiel EDIT: i mean dynamic lighting, not block xD
Whatever you do I'm positive it will be good
If you just had different blocks for each direction- you could leave determining the direction to the software developers?
This thread is now 8 months old. Is there still any chance for new blocks to become implemented?
Scoot really dislikes suggestions of blocks from modern MC (Even though they're good ideas <_<)
So, assuming we get a nice number of non-modern blocks suggested, yeah still possible.
i have a idea! ruby ore and block!
Fences Cracked stone bricks glass pain
Copper block. If you do copper plz do block not ore.
can you add partials and partial emitters for like smoke and stuff
It may be hard to put in but one way of doing it is by having the clients find this block in the world. Than the client displays the particles. Unlike Minecraft Premium we don't have to have the server summon in the particles so we wont be adding meta data or new packets.

fences does not work because that block need a .mcmeta file to work
...this is the longest thread?
Diamond block! No? D:
Gold ore goes with block of gold, iron ore goes with block of iron, coal ore goes with [???] <---Maybe block of coal? Different planks: acacia , jungle , birch , spruced planks. Granite? Polished? adesite? diorite?
I'm new here but I may as well try to contribute to this.
-Netherrack (Kinda' needed)
-Onyx (Not the Pokemon, The orange variant of stone)
-A pure black block (Useful for mappers and Pixel artists)
-Red Sand (It's red sand)
-Autumn Grass (Just the default grass colored orange)
-Autumn Leaves (Same as above, Just the default leaves but colored orange)
-Spring Grass (Default grass but colored Asparagus)
-Spring Leaves (Same as above, Just the default leaves colored Asparagus)
-Clay (Add this, O-clay?)
-Clear Glass (Glass but without the glare)
-Asphalt (For Streets)
-Yellow Asphalt (For Streets)
-White Asphalt (For Streets)
-Cherry Tree Leaves (Default leaves but pink)
-Brown Brick (Same as normal bricks but orange and the white is replaced with a dark shade of orange)
-Concrete (For paths, Very useful)
-Pine Wood (It's pine wood, Who can deny that?)
-Pine Leaves (For the above)
-Birch Wood (Birch wood)
-Copper Plating (Just a gold block colored orange and a little more contrast)
-Carpet blocks (You should know what they are :P)
That's all I can really put because I don't want to overwhelm you guys with my endless stream of ideas for this amazing project. Take it easy, But I would love to see some of these things added in.

Wow, this is a very big proposition. :o
I propose a Poison block who kill you (with a message "[Player] was intoxicated/poisoned").
Is this going to be happening any time soon? Or at all?
Sorry to bother this thread at all, but how can I add them? I don't get how to add them after reading the Classic Protocol wikipedia. The server I'm working for will be running MCGalaxy.

You may use /gb create to add new blocks into your server.
It should be noted to anyone else who posts in this thread: The second batch is never coming. Servers can define their own blocks now so we don't need it.
