Jacob's CTF is popular because it breaks the mold of "lmao freebuild do whatever you want!!" that almost every server does.

Other such games, like Zombie Survival, were similarly popular (and still have a dedicated fanbase)

It could be the kind of 'fresh approach' Jacob_'s brings to the 'old', 'stale' 'mix', but I think it's much simpler than that. Jacob_'s is 'popular' because of its large group of dedicated players. Take me for example. I've played on Capture the Flag for almost four years now, and for many on CTF, that's what it is. It's players who have stuck by Capture the Flag for a very long time and who haven't given up on the community. That's the main reason why we're so 'popular'.

(This doesn't mean that we don't get new players, though. On the contrary, we're oddly getting a lot of new faces recently.)

Another thing I'll note is that we have a very responsive community. I know a lot of communities have problem with staffing, but here, if there's an issue or dispute with staff, the staff can often get punished or demoted. In other words, we have good staff members.

P.S. CTF isn't just a, "boring game of tag." If you have the time, I encourage you to try out CTF after you get some basic guidance from an experienced player. You'll find that CTF isn't just tagging, but also the use and skill of manual TNT exploding. Did I mention you can fire actual rockets and grenades from our in-game store?

Take a look at this. Just cause you probably got on the server for 5 minutes and hated it cause you died doesn't mean its not a fun game..

Don't trashtalk what you don't know.

Also, the popularity is mainly because Jacob_ provides a game that is not actually available anywhere else, hence the popularity compared to the majority of freebuilds.

Also there have been a lot of popular CTF servers in the past, but they're all dead now. I stole all of their players.

Honestly you could've just kept "your opinions" to yourself.. Making a thread actually was kind of a terrible idea. I'm just going to point this out and say that you actually have a prejudice opinion. We're not going to track you down or start some crap storm up ,but we just think it's funny to hear about new players complaining about a unique and different game mode from the rest of the CC servers. I think you have a bad impression of this server.. Judged us off like we're a brand new book to you with a weird cover. Clearly you not yet have tried playing a real single game or know the concepts and rules of playing CTF. We would like to encourage you and try out... (As I'm typing this up you're surprisingly trying out CTF right now). Sorry if we're being a bit rude ,but you have said some awful things to our community while some of us were playing on that "boring game of swimming around in lava server" just because we're from CTF. "Bring no harm to us and we bring no harm to you." & "The more hatred, the more popularity."

i didn't tell mean to bring any harm to your fandom, too be honest i didn't expect to get this kind of feedback, i didn't know the cc community was so toxic in some places thanks for telling me that it is, now, i know not to go on Jacobs CTF because of how toxic and immature the fanbase is for it. and also, your calling lava survival boring when you mostly go on it. i don't have a problem with it though i'm just saying also, i did play a single game, and i didn't find it fun, because placing blocks and then placing purple next to it gets boring quickly.

To be fair Matthew, I don't think you can argue that we were the only ones being toxic. When you first came on to our server you were talking a lot of trash about our community, which upset a lot of players. What you did here by making a thread only added salt to an already open wound. We never came on to lava survival to talk trash about your community, and we never made a post berating your community. I think it's a gross exaggeration and lie on your part to say that you did absolutely nothing to make this an issue.

The worst part about all of this is how you call us immature. After talking like that about our community, did you expect people from our server to praise you or say nothing at all? You can't say that we were immature when you clearly provoked us. Think, Matthew. Think. This isn't something hard to understand. In fact, this is what you call common sense.
