I think he might be talking about Classical Lava Survival? It was on around early 2017 and it stopped around July 2017. Like my server at times, I don't think it was that "Popular". The only server that comes close to a "Popular" LS server is DavidinCT's Lava and freebuild, does that ring anything? Maybe the name of it threw you off and you thought it stopped?
