Sorry for the inconvenience

There is currently a nasty Trojan Ransom ware virus going around the internet called CryptoLocker. Once the virus has infected your computer, it encrypts every file on your computer, denying your access to those files. Then, a window will appear on your screen, with a timer counting down. If you do not enter your credit card information and pay them $300, then when the timer reaches 0, EVERY FILE ON YOUR COMPUTER WILL BE DESTROYED. If you do send them the money, they willgive you the key to decrypt your files, but the hackers will then have your credit card information, and can steal your identity, and also have the ability to install more malware on your computer in the future. As of now, millions of computers have been infected, and no government of the world has created a solution to this virus. There is no cure, but there are a few steps you can follow to make sure that YOUR computer is not infected:
Make sure your anti-virus software is up to date
Create an external back-up for any important files
Do not open any e-mails with attachments, visit any websites, or download ANYTHING unless you are 100% sure that it is from a safe, uninfected source. (copy/paste this to other websites, let it be known. This was copied/pasted by another community)
I swear I heard about this like a year or two ago...
I read about this the other day! Nasty stuff.
Currently the best defense is to do the following
Stay safe!
WHAT PORN WERE YOU WATCHING TO CONTRACT THIS VIRUS TURKJE10?????
This virus may be a baby work for my antivirus to deal with.
That virus is evil. Even if you do remove it on their website they provide you with the executable because it's not the fake lockout viruses like you usually see. This virus actually encrypts all files matching a certain filetype (it looks for any common filetype, like doc and docx). It's easy to remove but once you do remove it it's not gone.
If you get it and it starts encrypting you're fucked.

And, thankfully, they /will/ undo the damage if you pay. Although I've heard reports of it taking several weeks for the payment to be accepted by the humans on the other side, the virus will not self-destruct as long as it knows you have sent the payment.

Can confirm, please send them a payment or two
Simple, don't run it. Once you do and its encrypted.. yeah. You're pretty well screwed
It's not as simple as a "cure" or a "fix" due to the fact that it's encryption. That said, its been around for a while now

Microsoft Word allows documents to contain executables. It makes the whole thing a bit easier to get infected with.

That fact alone is really scary, but yeah, I've seen it before. It's why the newer office versions have that "Protected View" crap, to make sure nothing runs.
