Accounts are identified based on name, so no, you cannot rename an account because it will appear to be a completely different account.
It is trivial to register a new name and inform the server(s) you play on who you are.

do /nick [Player_Name] [new_name] to change your Nickname on a Server, and on Classicube you must create another account and ask servers to swap your /whois.
