i looked at a forum on the controls and say that you had to click f6 to go first person, but i dont have that so i created this thread

Changing your perspective is the F5 key, not F6. If you do not have this key, you can change it by pressing Esc > Go to Options... > Controls... > Press the ">" button on the right-hand side once > Click on "Third person: F5" and then press the key on your keyboard you want to change it to. After this, you can then press that key while playing and it will change your perspective from first-person to third-person.
